International Forest Engineering Summer School 2018 - registrations open

Registrations are now open for the International Forest Engineering Summer School 2018, being held at Carmel, Victoria Bay Heights, close to the town of George in the beautiful Garden Route area of South Africa. The course targets high potential practitioners (forest managers/experts and contractors), researchers, academics, and staff employed by equipment manufacturers, from all over the world. The course is aimed at young professionals that are developing in their careers, but do have some exposure to forest engineering aspects. More experienced practitioners and young graduates will however also obtain good value.

Participants will leave the course enriched and competent in understanding and being able to apply the principles of successfully managing the full forest engineering work cycle. All delegates will be supplied with a tablet loaded with CMO management software.

The course not only teaches all aspects of the forest engineering value chain, but also leaves the participant with a set of tools to apply in his/her work environment. The learning environment is such that the team dynamics and interaction all contribute to the learning experience.

This third FE Summer School has been adapted to include all valuable comments from previous participants:

  • Inclusion of technology-based solutions - every delegate is issued with a tablet loaded with software that will be used throughout the course.
  • Including semi-mechanised and motor manual operations.

The course will run from 19 November to 07 December 2018. Please note the special discounted early bird price ends on 31 July 2018. The costs, which include all accommodation and meals, can be found below.
